What to do
The gite is located midway between the Monts du Sancy & the Monts du Cantal ranges both having ski resorts & various summer activities. Bort les Orgues has a large lake with a beach & many water based activities. Salers is a picturesque town with medieval ramparts, historic buildings & superb views.
The gite occupies half of the traditional Cantal stone barn, built in 1824 and converted into a comfortable gite in 2010.The gite is arranged over 3 floors & retains some of the traditional features of the barn. The gite enjoys views towards the historic village of Ydes-Bourg & surrounding hills.
In the winter there are ski stations within 45 mins drive which also offer summer sports activities. Swimming & boating can be enjoyed in various nearby lakes or at local pools. The area is a walkers paradise & cycling is a popular pastime with a cycle track within 1km of the gite. Chateau’s & medieval towns are within short drives.
